Nala

A donation was made in memory of Nala by Drs. White, Remsburg, Martzall, Larson and staff at Lower Columbia Veterinary Clinic on Jun 07, 2019.

Nala was born in Oklahoma to one of our barn cats. I had to help her mother birth her because she was 3 times bigger than the other kittens in the litter and she got stuck in the birth canal. I always thought she was part bobcat but was never 100% sure. As a tiny kitten she somehow got left out one night was just about dead when I found her but I brought her back from the brink by putting her in the oven and cycling the temp between warm and off and rubbing her with towels because she was so very cold. She had a severe respiratory illness after but survived and went on to become a big, beautiful but pretty mean girl, she only cuddled on her terms! She was diagnosed with diabetes about 5 years ago but did very well for a long time until she succumbed to an enlarged heart, fluid in and around her lungs and a mass on her kidney. I made the decision to let her go and feel very honored to have been there to help her come into this world and to be there and hold her as she left. She will always be in my heart.
