Woody

A donation was made in memory of Woody by the doctors and staff at Green Lake Animal Hospital on Sep 26, 2025.

Woody was a beautiful gray tabby and was such a gentleman. His full name was Elwood P. Dowd after the Jimmy Stewart character in the movie "Harvey" and he was very like the character, kind, gentle, loving and accepting. But he did not like being picked up or kissed even though I explained that it was all part of the "Mom Manual" (must kiss kitties frequently!). He and his brother Buzz had been living with me for about six months when I adopted Stanley and Stella, twins that had been rescued from a local park at six months of age. Stella was (and still is) extremely feral but she took a shine to Woody and was his constant shadow for eighteen years. He allowed her to kiss, groom, cuddle and in general be next to him at all times. She and I were both heartbroken when he passed away. I knew he was fading fast but (as is the way with our babies) I knew it was time, 26 days after his twin Buzz passed away. We were barely at the vet before he started to go so I didn't have more than a few minutes for the final goodbye. I am and will continue grieving for my boys, but my nieces got me angel kitty ornaments for each of them so I can look at them daily and it brings a smile that they are together again.
