Neuro 3 Course Description:
This course consists of a 50-minute presentation looking at the more common day to day spinal cord diseases encountered in the private practice. We will review some new literature on these diseases and will discuss how to prioritize differentials based on the signalment, onset of clinical signs and progression. We will summarize the session with practice cases and discussion.

Biographies:
- Dr. Yael Merbl is an Assistant Professor for Neurology and Neurosurgery at Washington State University Veterinary Teaching Hospital. She obtained her DVM from the Hebrew University in Israel and completed a small animal rotating internship and Neurology residency at the Koret VTH in Israel. She has worked for 4 years in private practice as a general practitioner and a neurologist. She has been with WSU VTH for a year. She has authored several journal articles, and has lectured in an international, national, and regional meetings. Her clinical and research interest is in brain diseases. She has special interests in evaluating cerebrospinal biomarkers in epileptic and encephalitis patients in hopes of utilizing these biomarkers as therapeutic and prognostic indicators for the future.
