Course Description:
Brucella canis, a reportable, zoonotic disease in Washington State, has been identified in several dogs over the past few months. The WSU College of Veterinary Medicine in collaboration with the Washington State Department of Agriculture (WSDA) will host an informational webinar for veterinarians and technicians on Wednesday, April 28, 2021, from 6 PM to 7 PM.
Dr. Brian Joseph, State Veterinarian from WSDA, will provide information on the cases seen and the regulatory aspects of B. canis. Dr. Claire Burbick, Diagnostic Microbiologist, Washington Animal Disease Diagnostic Laboratory, will offer what is available for current diagnostics. Dr. Michela Ciccarelli, Comparative Theriogenologist, Veterinary Teaching Hospital, will highlight the clinical aspects of these cases.
This program is approved for 1 hour of continuing education credit from the Continuing Veterinary Medical Education Program at Washington State University for both veterinarians and technicians.
