Neruo 1 Course Description:
This course consists of a 50 minute presentation on how to fine tune a neurologic exam and how to use the examination findings to help neuro-localize with ease. Common misinterpretations of various neurologic findings will be discussed so that these mistakes can be avoided. There will also be some practice neurolocalization cases that will be discussed as a group. Come join us in this session so that you can make the neurologic exam a simple and routine part of your day-to-day practice.

Biography:
- Dr. Annie Chen-Allen is an Associate Professor and Service Chief for Neurology and Neurosurgery at Washington State University Veterinary Teaching Hospital. She obtained her DVM from Texas A&M University and completed a small animal rotating internship and Neurology residency at WSU. She has been with WSU VTH for over 18 years. She has authored over 75 publications including journal articles, book chapters, conference proceedings, and abstracts and has lectured at several international, national, and regional meetings. Her clinical and research interest is in the diagnosis and treatment of brain tumors. She has been involved with various clinical trials including a viral gene therapy trial for the treatment of canine intracranial meningiomas. She is also part of the nationally recognized WSU Pituitary Surgery Team. She also has special interests in evaluating cerebrospinal biomarkers in brain tumor, epileptic and encephalitis patients in hopes of utilizing these biomarkers as therapeutic and prognostic indicators for the future.
