Bodhi (Bo-dee) adopted our family in the summer of 2004 as a strapping 4-year old rescued from the streets of Louisville, KY. A more ideal match of boxer to human could not be scripted. His strikingly handsome features were matched only by his loyalty and propensity to love and to be loved by his 2 and 4-legged family and friends. Bodhi's life journey continued in Richmond, KY for 2 years where he stole the hearts of his doggie day-care friends and then packed up his family for a cross-country trip to their new home in Eastern Washington state. Bodhi's adventures in the Pacific Northwest included a trip to Yellowstone Nat'l Park, romping on the beaches and finding stinky crabs on the Oregon and Washington coasts, hiking in the mountains, and camping in the high desert. In 2008, Bodhi inspired everyone with his resolve to overcome the removal of a tumor on his spinal cord where he relearned how to stand, walk, and run with the help of his care givers at the WSU Vet Hospital. The resulting additional 18 months shared with Bodhi were filled with love. He reminded us every day that Life is better with boxers.
