We bought Lacye nine months after we bought Satch II (1997-2010). They were close in age and got along so well. We lost Lacye at an early age - 7, when she contracted cancer. Losing her was more difficult for my husband because he was dealing with cancer at the same time as Lacye, so he could not take her to Pilchuck Veterinary as he had done with Satch I (1987-1997)for her chemotherapy. Lacye was the sweetest dog we have ever had, she also had a unique personality that told us she enjoyed life and it hurt to lose her. She kept things lively around our home and also enjoyed going bye-bye in our truck with Satch II. My husband was hit hardest by Lacye's loss, because when it came time to put her down, he would not let me touch her. He carried her into the vet's office and helped them to prepare her. I think because he was so pre-occupied with his own cancer, he did not realize what was going on and his protectiveness came out this day toward Lacye's pain. Again, I look forward to seeing Lacye and my other pets in heaven.
