Covey Run's Titus Magnus, 8 August 2003 to 25 March 2015. Titus will always be remembered for many wonderful (and a few stressful) hunting and field trial adventures, a lot of pontificating (otherwise known as excited barking), a few incidents with fur and quills, and many cherished snuggles and companionship. Titus faithfully greeted us when we came home with an exuberant bounce and a toy or bone in his mouth. He was always there when I was down and needed someone to listen. He was a bird-finding machine on pheasant and quail. Style and disciplined bird-manners weren’t his strength in the field, but he was always ready to find and retrieve another bird. He made many great memories for young hunters at Palouse area youth hunts, and left a lasting impression on all who watched him work with his enthusiasm, his deep chest (holding a big, wonderful heart) and long legs. Titus was also an excellent teacher of biochemistry and enzyme kinetics; many students analyzed the kinetics of the enzyme Titus Flippase. He was also known as Brother Titus, honored member of the WSU Sigma Pi chapter.
