Betsy was one of 3 kittens born to a feral queen in a Kerrville, Texas culvert. They were all rescued but one kitten did not survive. The kittens were socialized and became wonderful pets but the mother was always an untouchable even though they were all indoors and had complete run of the house after being moved to Washington. The mother's age was unknown but was thought to be 2 years older than her kittens. She developed an oral cancer and passed at age 16.
Betsy's sister developed an abdominal cancer and passed one year later. Betsy remained with 2 male housemates but never really accepted the boys as anything more than a nuisance and
certainly no substitute for her mother and sister. She was always playful and loved her humans without reservation for her full 18 years. She will always be lovingly remembered and greatly missed.
