Chucho

A donation was made in memory of Chucho on Oct 12, 2010.

Chucho was with us for 15 years, which is a very long time for a Siberian Husky, and we cherish each and every minute he shared his life with us. His sister, Nikita, from the same litter, is grieving and missing her brother, terribly. We are learning to take one day at a time. I still hear Chucho’s howl and talking, and I run to the backyard thinking he is there. He was our early morning wake-up call, he protected his sister, and loved to dig in the backyard. When it snowed in the middle of the night, he was so excited and wanted everyone to get up and come out to play. I miss his big blue eyes, and his happy face when I rubbed his belly, and his cry not to stop. Chucho was well loved, and is missed by his whole family. We said good-bye to our dear companion on August 9th, 2010.

Comments: I didn't get to know Chucho (and Nikita) all that well, as I don't see my dear friends as often as I would like. However, one only has to look in Shannon and Neil's pantry to see all the doggie cookies (different varieties!), equipment, and everything a true dog lover would have. Every time I was at Shannon's house, I would ask to give the dogs cookies (even if they'd had their limit for the day), and Shannon would always cave in and say yes out of sheer love of her babies. A look into the back yard told a story of spoiled and happy dogs, and it was very easy to tell they were used to getting lots of love and attention. Chucho lived a long and happy life and I hope Shannon and Neil can take comfort in that. 15 years is a VERY long time for a Siberian Husky to live, and that longevity is a testament to how easy his live was and how very much he was loved. The way you comfort Nikita and how well she is doing also shows how much you love your dogs. Not many people would go to the lengths you have to ensure her happiness and comfort in her twilight years without her beloved brother. Lynda

Comments: I remember the time when it was pretty warm out and we had a huge plastic swimming pool it the back yard. Chucho and his sister was playing in the water. They cooled off, but I don't know who was wetter, the dogs or the people watching them play. They had a ball!!. I will miss his howl everytime I do go for a visit. As soon as you step out of the car his howl permeated the the air. He really is missed.
