Daisy

A donation was made in memory of Daisy by Doctors Paul DeMaris, Rita Bauman & staff of Alpine View Veterinary Hospital on Jul 06, 2010.

I would like to thank you for your letter of June 16, 2010,. regarding the passing of my darling Daisy. She was truly one in ten (or twenty, or a hundred) thousand...

But then so are the folks at Alpine View Veterinary Hospital; Drs DeMaris, Bauman, Murphy and Bell.

Dr Paul DeMaris first saw Daisy whe she was less then six weeks old, in October 1995. Then at less than 10 weeks, he saw her again - doing surgery to correct (as best as possible) a problem with her jaw. IN future years, he would see her again; counting puppy spines on xrays of her upcoming litters, and yes - even delivering puppies via c-section in the middle of night. Dr DeMaris was the only vet she ever saw - she never stepped one paw into another clinic, right up until and including her last day of life in 2010.

Daisy lived for fourteen and a half years. A long life for a labrador retriever, but not nearly a long enough life for those of us who loved her so much. Thanks goes to God, good genetics, good veterinary care, and yes - a little good luck that she was here with us for so long.. When the time came to say goodbye to her, and at a time when, sadly - we have needed him most, Dr DeMaris was there for us again...

Thanks to his veterinary care along the way - Daisy experienced every good day possible. That was all I ever wanted for her - well, except that maybe she would live for another 25 or 30 years. Unfortunately....that was never to be. But thanks to Dr DeMaris, Daisy got every good day out of life that there was to be, and I was able to enjoy her company for every minute possible. And, when the time came to say goodbye, Dr DeMaris knew what to do, and was there for the both of us.

The pic attached is Daisy on her 12th birthday - two and a half years before her passing. It is one of my favorite pics of her...A tiara suits her perfectly, though - she would have only laughed about it...All kidding aside - she would have been tickled by this program that Dr DeMaris contributed to in her name, that honors all our loved pets..

Yes, she would have been absolutely tickled.

Deborah S.
