Our sweet and gentle lady, Clarabell, crossed Rainbow Bridge to join her sister Bella, Friday, March 5th, during her evening walk before bedtime. Her peaceful passing, on her own terms, was her final gift to us after a beautiful, long, happy life of 15-1/2 years. Our hearts are broken but we have so many terrific, happy memories that will stay with us forever. From the time Clara arrived is the US, from Frankfurt, she jumped into our hearts, after literally jumping into Walt’s arms when we opened her airline crate. She was extremely well behaved, intelligent, curious, frisky, gentle, loving and compassionate....an absolute delight- so much so we decided to add her younger sister to our pack. When Bella arrived Clara welcomed her graciously and shared unconditionally. They were a true team, perfect travelers, and inseparable. Clara and Bella were AKC Certified Therapy Dogs, Canine Good Citizens, members of Misty’s Pals Pet Therapy Group and Hospets for Treasure Coast Hospice. Clara never met anyone she didn’t love. She shared that love as a therapy dog for nearly 9 years. After Bella passed in 2019 Clara had a brief adjustment period but thoroughly enjoyed her final 1-1/2 years, much of it during Covid, as our constant, loving companion. Clara was a beautiful gift, and we were truly blessed. We know she and Bella are reunited, running free and whole again, and that gives us peace. RIP our dear, gentle one.
