In Memory of Our Beloved...

Max

  Max

I recently lost my beloved German Shepherd dog Max.  Max was my best friend. We went through a lot together. He was there for me when I had a divorce after more than 10 years of marriage and during break ups with boyfriends. He was the reason I would get up early every morning although I would much rather sleep in. Now I can sleep in but would do anything to wake up early to take my friend for a walk in the park. We traveled across the country, with Max sitting in his special place in the back of my 4Runner, with the window rolled down, his head sticking out catching the breeze.  He was spoiled rotten (rightfully so) He would get ice water in a starbucks cup when I stopped to get my mocha. He loved his chicken teriyaki he would get as a special treat and would eat mine too if he got the chance. He loved going for hikes and swimming in the creeks. He could play fetch for hours without getting tired. He was tall, dark ,handsome and intimidating in size, but had the kindest and  most gentle soul that I have ever known. I miss his beautiful brown eyes and his sweet smile and the way he used to tilt his head when I spoke to him. He was my jogging partner for 6 years until he tore his ACLs  in both knees. Thanks to the wonderful veterinary staff at WSU he had two successful knee surgeries and went on to live and run for 7 more years. Not a day goes by that I don't think about you dear old friend. You brought so much joy and happiness into my life. I will be forever grateful for the 13 wonderful years I had with you. I love you very much Maxiboy.  I will miss you for the rest of my life.
