Barney
Today we received your letter notifying us that our wonderful vets at
Yakima Veterinary Clinic made a donation in our names for the loss of our
beloved Barney. We'd like to thank the staff and doctors of Yakima
Veterinary clinic for their devoted and steadfast care of Barney over the
years. Barney was pretty dramatic about visits to see the doc (especially
if it had anything to do with toenails,) but underneath it all we know he
really did like them all. We'd also like to extend a very special
thank you to Dr. Cok and her assistant Joan, who came to our house so that
Barney could end his life in his own yard in the shade of our trees with
us (and his pal, Minnie) by his side. And thank you to Dr. Hinz for
the special footprint memorial- how serendipitous that it is of his three
toed foot- just one of his many surgeries over the years!
Barney was our first pet (such a very small word for one who had such an
enormous impact on our lives.)
When we first saw Barney he was the puppy gleefully biting the other puppies
ears. And although some of that energy may have faded over the years
due to surgeries and arthritis, and as old age buffed the edges of his
personality, his spirit never faded. Barney was a true force of nature
("the experience" as good friends called him.) We were blessed to have
him in our lives for nearly 15 1/2 years.
We miss him but we know he's happy and healthy again, and running circles
around everybody in Heaven. Saint Francis has his hands full with his
arrival! He was our crazy dog on earth and he's our angel dog (albeit
with a wicked sense of humor) in Heaven.
We love you, Barney. Go dog, go!
