Stevie
After years of wanting to get a dog, we finally got Stevie. She was our
first baby girl and was the sweetest dog we could ever ask for. Always
acting far beyond her years, we often joked that she was an old soul in a
puppy's body. She was a great sister to our other bulldog, Frankie, who also
misses her very much. When we first found out that our little 6 year old
girl had cancer, we were devastated. But as tough as that news was, we were
grateful for the opportunity to make the last months of her life the
absolute best we could. We celebrated one last puppy birthday with the whole
family and Stevie got to have steak, hot dogs and even a puppy cake.
On the days she felt up to it, we'd take her to a field where she could
chase bunnies and watch ducks at the pond. She was such a tough girl she
lived past her original diagnosis and got to enjoy most of the summer, her
favorite time of year to play outside. It was so hard to say goodbye to her
and we do miss her so much but we feel lucky to have had her in our lives.
She will always live in our memories and in our hearts forever.
