Sadie
Sadie loved to join us on hikes in the Cascades. She was very
stimulated by the sights and smells of the woods, and she would cover about
three times as much distance as we did. She would lie down in shallow
water to cool off, but would never go any deeper than where her feet could
touch the bottom of the lake. She enjoyed one overnight backpacking
trip to Nason Ridge last summer. We kept her on a long leash outside
the tent, and of course she was tangled in a bush by morning.
She could chase a ball for much longer than you felt like throwing
it. Her happy smile, set off by one stiff ear and
one floppy ear, and her sweet disposition made her a wonderful companion.
She is greatly missed.
