Max

Max was the love of her life and she went above and beyond to give him a
very privileged life, full of fun, love and medical care. He was a ham
bone, loved his picture taken, his birthday parties, Thanksgiving because
“Grandma” let him lick (just a little!) the turkey bird before it was
cooked, and Christmas with all the presents to open.
Max was a brilliant dog who knew Sign Language, and responded to “First”
commands on order.
Because of ill health, (he had three surgeries in 2003, 2004, and 2005 for
the removal of cancerous tumors,) she decided to let nature take its course
until he gave her the message: “enough is enough.”
On the evening of January 23, 2007, Max crossed over the rainbow bridge at
home with his head in our daughter’s lap, and his favorite toys around him.
Bekki talked him through the whole process and he was happy, secure and
relaxed.
Forever Friend
I know that it must be different,
Now that I’m no longer here.
I realize how much I was loved
and how all of you did care.
I know it will be hard at first
when you look around for me.
Expecting to find me in my bed or
beside my favorite tree.
Someday you will begin to see,
although it’ll take some time,
the happy tiles you shared with me,
the memories are yours and mine.
I’ll remember you, my family,
and how much you meant to me.
So please don’t grieve and don’t be sad,
it was just my time to leave.
