Lucy
She was 9 when we had to put her to sleep, in
April, due to cancer.
We consider her nana, from Peter Pan. When our kids were young she
would look after them, coming to find us if they were getting into something
they should be be. One particular summer night, it was rather warm, the
kids were in bed sleeping, she came to us wanting us to follow her,
she went straight to their bed room. We did not understand, but let
her in, she jumped up on their beds sniffing them and pawing at their
bedding. We finally realized she want the bedding pulled back because
they were hot and sweaty. Once we did this she got down and left the
room. She was taking care of her kids.
