Bailey and Dewars
Our best friends closed their eyes as their heads were in our hands.
We knew in our hearts it was time...Bailey had a nice, long road and it was
hard for Dewars to stand.
The thoughts that scurried through
our heads, as we cradled them in our arms.
Were of his younger, puppy years,
And OH...her many charms.
Today, there was no gentle nudge
Or an intense "I love you gaze",
Only hearts filled with tears
Remembering our joy filled years .
But an Angel did appear to us and this is what he said,
"They know how much you loved them and long to have them more,
But GOD also loves our canine friends,
He's installed a 'doggy-door"!
Good thing we taught you two to use one!
We'll miss you.
