Popeye brought tremendous joy to the lives he touched, despite being blind most of his 14 years and having other disabilities. We first met him in June of 1992, when Mack’s parents welcomed him into their home as a very young stray kitten. Popeye brought comfort to Mack’s mother when her husband died and then brought comfort to us when she died in 2002. He was our special connection with Mack’s parents. Popeye was a wonderful, loyal cat, one who was always cheerful. Just hearing our voices made him purr with delight. Although we will miss him enormously, we are confident that Mack’s parents were on hand to welcome him to heaven.
