  Lady Fergie

Lady Fergie of Mendenhaven
August 17, 1992 – July 21, 2006

It is with a heavy heart to inform our family and friends that we lost our beloved Fergie today. Her health has been slowly failing her in the past two years and in the last month she deteriorated rapidly. She was born in Washington State in 1992 and came into our family in December of that year. The first of her many Travels and Adventures found her on Russell’s lap in an Alaska Airlines jet. He actually paid $45 for her to ride up top with him.  Fergie was a very outgoing, friendly and vivacious little girl. Though she was small weighing only around seven pounds, she thought she was a Great Dane, and didn’t hesitate to let another larger dog know. Lady Fergie
Though she was small weighing only around seven pounds, she thought she was a Great Dane, and didn’t hesitate to let another larger dog know. She was even known to hob-knob nose-to-nose with young horses in Oklahoma. Most of Fergie’s life was lived in Juneau and Douglas, Alaska. She went on the road traveling with her people in the fall of 2002, and was in Yuma, Arizona when she passed away. She spent the summer of 2004 in an RV park in Everett, Washington where her adventurous ways nearly did her in. She loved her picnics on Camino Island and her walks along the shores of Mukilteo Beach.

Fergie loved people and had many friends. Too many to mention here, but all of you who receive this email know how Little Fergie touched your lives. Her many other loves were food, car rides (to anywhere or any place), she love to run on Sandy Beach in Douglas, bury her head in the wet sand and rub until her nose was plugged with sand (of course this was always followed with a good warm bath). Her to die for food was popcorn but she was known to take a bite of tomato, zucchini and fresh apple now and then. Fergie’s favorite toy was a racquetball left behind by her Uncle Mike.

Fergie is survived by her parents, Russ & Esther S., her adopted brother AJ and many extended family members. She was preceded in death by her friend and long time companion JD the cat in 2001.

Fergie has left us with many wonderful memories. We will not forget her.
