My Abbey
Girl
In April of 1995 I lost my dog "Tuesday." She was a 17 year old
Husky Shepherd mix. She was amazingly healthy and lived a really
long time for a dog her size. I loved her very much. One day I woke
up and she couldn't walk. Her hips just went. I had to have her
euthanized. I swore I'd never get another dog, it really broke my
heart.
On August 5th 1995 I decided I couldn't stand not having a dog. I
bought a tiny little Doberman puppy. I was told she was the runt.
She was walking around, looked healthy and had a chubby puppy belly.
After taking her home all she did was vomit and she had constant
diarrhea. She wouldn't eat or drink or make any kind of sound. I
took her to the vet right away. Parvo test was negative. We found
she was actually only two weeks old. I had to feed her through a
syringe (no needle) with a mothers milk substitute and eye droppers
full of pedialyte for a couple weeks then on to soft food. With the
help of an amazing Veterinarian we got her healthy.
