  My Precious Bootsie
December 15, 1990 - December 10, 2004

Bootsie was my little "miracle wrapped in fur."  The day that I had to help her to Rainbow Bridge was the day that my own reality lost so much of it's vibrancy. Bootsie passed on due to phenobarbital induced liver disease. Bootsie had been epileptic since she was six months old.

Bootsie walked life's pathways with me for 15 years. Steadfastly loyal, she remained by my side, even when that path became overgrown with thorns and difficult to navigate. This little dog had more wisdom behind her dancing brown eyes than anyone I have ever known. She was my "Twin Soul".

I lost a treasured friend today
The dog who used to lay
Her gentle head upon my knee
And share her silent thoughts with me...
She'll come no longer to my call
Retrieve no more her favorite ball
A voice far greater than my own
Has called her to His golden throne.
Although me eyes are filled with tears,
I thank Him for the happy years
He let her spend down here with me
And for her love and loyalty.
When it is time for me to go
And join her there, this much I know...
I shall not fear the transient dark
For she will greet me with her bark.
