Swayn's Sweet Shelby, Sami's Girl 3/12/05 - 1/15/14 our first Havanese dog was found to have a liver shunt at 15 months of age. She had surgery which corrected the largest shunt but at that time the surgeon found there wasn't just one shunt, there were many. We were told her life expectancy would be short. With medication, a lot of care, and a couple of companion Havanese, she had a very happy life. She was a talker, and taught the younger pups to talk as well. At Burien Veterinary Hospital she was known as the "miracle dog". Her little body finally wore out and we said goodby to her just two months shy of her ninth birthday. What a girl!
