Dolly

A donation was made in memory of Dolly by Dr. Nancy U. Williams on Jul 14, 2009.

Our “Dolly” entered our life June 09 and passed away June 23, 2009. She was a little angel that touched our life for exactly 2 weeks. In that time period what a hole she has left in our hearts. She was a friendly, docile 6 week old puppy. Everyone that met her totally fell in love with her easy going gentle nature. She was so willing and easy to train, that I called her “perfect puppy”!
We took her in for her first shots when she was 8 weeks old. We were advised that it is much easier on the puppy to have her spaded at that time. When we dropped her off at the vet she was playing with another 8 week old black lab puppy and having a wonderful time. I commented to my husband how great it was to leave her at a vet where she could be so free and happy before surgery. That afternoon when we went to pick her up we discovered that her heart had stopped on the operating table. She had been revived, then her heart became irregular. When we visited her she could hardly raise her head. She seemed to be improving, she responded well to me, making the vet feel encouraged that she may come around. Unfortunately she died a couple of hours later. The vet was most upset, questioning if she had done anything wrong. She was as or more upset than we were. We will always fondly remember our special little puppy that stole everybody’s heart.
We were most surprised and most impressed, that our vet had made a donation in our puppy’s honour. What a wonderful and useful program to remember a pet!
