Jacob

A donation was made in memory of Jacob by the doctors and staff at Valley Veterinary Clinic on Jan 20, 2025.

We had Jacob for 10 years, which just wasn't long enough. we got him when he was about 8-9 weeks and we fell completely in love with him. He was your typical black lab/boxer mix, full of normal puppy behavior. He learned fast and was such a sweet boy. He loved his family so much. He ended up having a thyroid issue and he was from that point on our extra special boy. We had to watch him much closer then the rest of our beloved animals cause he just needed that attention. He got a pill every morning and every night. He had to see the vet every 6 months for blood work and once a year a full check up to check on his issues. We thought that would always be the worst for our sweet boy but little did we know the worst was yet to come. When we learned he had cancer and a very bad one, we kept hoping he would still be alright and had much more time. He had surgery to remove a cancer tumor and we thought okay we got this and not even 2 months later we lost him. It was absolutely heart breaking and we were shattered. Coming home that day without him was awful. Our other animals have been confused. His sister our chocolate lab has been so sad without him. She will lay on her dog bed leaving room as if for him to show up and lay next to her. We knew he had a big personality but didn't know how big until he was gone. We have felt the emptiness without him. He had a smile that melted your heart and if he wanted your attention he was going to get it and was a pushy boy. You couldn't help but to laugh and just let him love on you. His tail was like a helicopter and he walked like he was a baby calf. We miss Jacob so much but we feel blessed and thankful we were his people and he gave us the time he did, even if it wasn't long enough.
