Jackson

A donation was made in memory of Jackson by Dr. Newnham at Companion Animal Wellness Center on Mar 01, 2018.

We found Jackson abandoned on our rural road. He was microchipped but the registered owner claimed he had given Jackson away and was vague about details. So....Jackson joined our household. Poor Jackie, he was suffering from food allergies and inverted eyelashes. How he lived with that pain for 5 years is beyond me. We took care of all his needs and he fit right in with our family. Even our dog-fearing cat would occasionally give him rubs. Everyone loved Jackson! He never met a stranger, welcoming one and all. At 95 pounds, he still considered himself a lap dog! He loved to snuggle on the sofa in the evening. We didn't get nearly a long enough time with Jackson. He was diagnosed with mast cell tumors in the Spring of 2017. We thought we had beaten it with surgery but it made a reappearance around Christmas time. Soon his body became overwhelmed and sadly, we had to say goodbye the day after Christmas 2017. Six short years - too,too soon. Someone's throw-away dog became our gift from heaven and for that I will be forever grateful.
