On July 1, 2009, McDougal died surrounded by his family after his favorite treats. Our heavy hearts are so filled with grief for the loss of his bounding spirit, his strength, and love for fun and food. He never had a bad day. He awoke up with his tale wagging, ready to bang is food bowl, take his walk to see his friend Bonnie, have his lunch, then push to get a car ride to a favorite destination. Sleet, snow, rain, hail, ...it did not matter to him. Oh, he could be difficult and grumpy ..no question, but there was never a day that went by that he did not thank us for his happy life. Anyone who spent time with McDougal learned his charm, wit, carefree spirit and love of the outdoors held no boundaries. He never left my side and I lost the best four legged companion I have ever had. We miss him more than there are words. However, we are so grateful to have shared our life with him and will honor him by incorporating his spirit into our daily lives. Good-bye my sweet boy
