One of out favorite memories of Josie was how she could turn even the smallest moments into something special. She had this little routine where she’d trot ahead just a few steps, then glance back over her shoulder to make sure we were still right behind her—as if she were both leading the way and making sure her family was safe. It was such a simple gesture, but it captured everything about her spirit: loyal, watchful, and always connected to us.

On quiet afternoons, she’d curl up in her favorite spot, perfectly content just to be near us. And yet, the moment she sensed laughter or excitement, Josie would spring up as if to say, “Don’t forget me—I’m part of the fun too.” That blend of calm companionship and joyful presence was uniquely hers.
