Ember stood out from the start! As we were searching for a new kitten we stumbled across a sign outside of vet office, as they also did rescue. We set up a time to visit the litter and it was her reserved - keep to herself - independent nature that was intriguing. She allowed for a quick pet and a purr, but that was it. Upon second visit, she warmed up much faster and decided to interact, with a plop on the lap and her little happy motor. That's all we needed. She took her time to adjust to our long time Boston Terrier, on her terms of course. They became quite comfortable and she became the little princess of the house. As petite as she was in stature, she did not see herself that way. She was the boss of her world and we wouldn't have it any other way. As painful as it is to not have enjoyed a long and even happier life with her, she filled our home with her energy. She didn't quite make it to her 2nd birthday, but the love we feel for her and the fun she gave us will last forever.
