Leia

A donation was made in memory of Leia by the doctors and staff at Animal Clinic of Kalispell on Sep 23, 2019.

Leia was adopted in the summer of 2014 from the Flathead County Animal Shelter, in Kalispell, MT. She had just turned 4 the month before. Leia had been in and out of the Shelter several times before we ended up with her. Once was because she ran away and her owners didn't bother to pick her up. A second time was because she got in a disagreement with another dog, and got bit, and got taken back. A third time was because the owner just didn't have enough time for her. So there she sat in the Shelter for awhile, getting passed over for who knows what reason. She'd mash herself up against her kennel door for pets. When we met her, she was let out into the yard and did some zoomies, and then flopped over for a belly rub. All she wanted was love and attention. We decided she was the dog for us, and she came home with us. She was a silly and goofy girl, trying to be good but sometimes getting into trouble. She liked to counter surf, over the years she got a stick of butter, some sugar cookies, a freshly baked Papa Murphy's pizza, several containers of sour cream, and a strawberry rhubarb pie that had just been baked. She loved walks, car rides, treats, her nightly chew treat, cuddling, squeaking on toys, picking out new toys from PetCo, and giving all the love she could. Sadly, we helped Leia go over the Rainbow Bridge on September 7th. We had her for 5 years, but those were definitely not enough years. She gave us nothing but unconditional love and affection, and was the best dog that we could ever ask for.
