A donation was made in memory of Oscar on
Oct 11, 2012.
Oscar was a black and white tuxedo cat that I adopted as a kitten from the animal control for my husband. As a kitten he used to wake us up at night by bringing his toy mouses to us in bed. When my husband watched TV he would lay in his arms for hours of belly rubbing. He was playful, curious and lots of fun. When my daughter Olivia was born 5 years later there was no love lost between them. She was afraid of him and he stayed clear of her. Oscar first came down with kidney disease in February 2009 and we didn't think he would make it but he rallied. And all of a sudden Olivia and Oscar became fast friends. Oscar put up with a lot of medical intervention until the end. We appreciated that he allowed us to keep him a little longer.
When I went to pick up his ashes at the veterinarian's office, there was a little black and white tuxedo kitten for adoption. We brought him home and named him Jelly Bean. He's a great cat, but, he's not Oscar.
