A donation was made in memory of Boudicca by
the doctors and staff at Kitsap Veterinary Hospital on
Sep 19, 2017.
It turns out, she was just a dog.
I want to tell you she was unique in how gentle and kind she was, or how she made everyone smile. That she never pulled on a leash. That she seemed to float with me down all the staircases we descended. But these seeming miracles of companionship and good behavior are just what dogs do.
It has been a month since the vet came to our home to let her go. I was on the floor, holding her head and telling her we would go with a big hit of oxytocin...we gazed into each other's eyes and then she was gone. It was like the world ended that day. But it really doesn't...one of life's lessons (another thing dogs teach us).
I will miss her until my heart stops beating. Boudicca was my beloved dog, and there will never be another like her (and there are hundreds of thousands just like her)...
