Dixie

A donation was made in memory of Dixie by Drs. Molton, Batdorf, Stidham, Hamack and Meyer at Vista Veterinary Hospital on Nov 23, 2016.

Dixie came to us at the age of about 2. She was born in Germany then brought to Michigan where a military family had her. They were getting stationed over seas and could not take her, so Dixie then got rehomed to my cousin. Well having 4 children and an English Bulldog was a handful. Since me and my husband had already had a bulldog we were like whats one more. So, my uncle who is a truck driver had a load to pick up in Michigan and Dixie caught a ride and rode cross country to her new forever home in Kennewick, WA. Dixie was actually a pretty healthy dog up until the last 3 years of her life. She ended up with a tumor in her mouth, we did a few surgeries, we were told we could remove her portion of the jaw but it wasn't really recommended. So, we opted not to do so. Instead we took it a day at a time and let her live as long as she could with no pain and suffering. On August 24, 2016 we had to make that dreadful decision her tumor wouldn't stop bleeding and it was very infected, so we had to say good bye and she crossed over the rainbow bridge to be with her brother. Dixie was a handful but we loved her so very much and miss her every day.
