Aengus was a rescue boxer. It was clear that he had been abused and we knew he had been homeless when he was found. But he and I bonded from the time we first met. He loved to "talk" to us; he loved walks and taking trips; and he was completely devoted to us. We had 4 1/2 great years with Aengus before he showed symptoms of degenerative myelopathy. The disease advanced quickly and he lost the use of his hind legs within 9 months. But he never lost his spirit. I am very grateful to his doctor, who was always attentive to him, and our kids and grandkids, who loved him as much as he loved them. I miss him very much.
