A donation was made in memory of Tess by
the doctors and staff at Chuckanut Valley Veterinary Clinic on
Oct 05, 2017.
We adopted Tess from a litter of 10 Heeler Pups. She picked us of course! She led a full and adventurous life with countless walks in nature, many road trips and she boated all over the Salish Sea with us. She was a smart, stoic, & often serious dog that mellowed into such a sweetheart in her later years. Tess got sick in late summer & we helped her pass with all her dignity intact on 9/25/2017. We miss her greatly. I wrote this eulogy after a recent conversation with her...
Me: Tess, I still see you everywhere, my beautiful girl, I can picture you so clearly in your many places of wait or rest.. I can see your sweet face, your posture, your expression, I can sense your mood, and I am trying to take comfort in that...but it's been hard....
Tess: Don't despair, yes, I am everywhere, but I am especially in your heart..
I am with you in the dawn, while you gather your things and say goodbye and tell me to stay
I am with you after your absence, however long, as you come up the drive..I am with you in our joy as we reunite after a long day
I am with you in the dusk as you move from room to room, yes, that is me padding softly close by, as you complete your routine, I don't miss a thing
I am with you as the night winds down, in the comfortable places we share, so please don't despair
I am with you outside, in the fresh air, in all kinds of weather, for I do not care, I am with you on the water and in the Summer breeze, as we walk through forests and through the Autumn trees, I am there right beside you, it's where I will always be
I am with you always and forever now, don't think I'm not, I am part of your heart and you mine, and never will we part
So, yes, look for me everywhere, just follow your heart
