Minnie
A donation was made in memory of Minnie on Feb 02, 2009.
December 1998 - January 15, 2009
We don't know if Minnie ever knew she was a cat.
Few of her daily behaviors reflected that.
She followed us around much as a dog would.
She moved silently and often seemed to appear out of nowhere.
You could always count on her to show up where ever the action was.
For a little over a decade, she managed to avoid the trucks and cars that traveled our roads.
She hunted both day and night keeping the rodents on the run.
She faced other animals without fear and let them know she was clearly the one in charge!
Minnie patrolled the property daily checking on everyone and welcoming those who were new.
She sat with those who were sad or ill, comforting them only as she could.
Minnie made her presence known most often with a chirping sound, rarely with a meow.
She loved to sample the tasty treats provided by those she considered her extended family.
It was not unusual for her to have breakfast or lunch several times a day or to eat and run.
She was rarly a lap cat, did not like to cuddle, but loved to sleep in warm beds and in the sun.
She often sat in her special retreat in the garage looking out the window observing the world around her.
Her annual holiday letter let you know how seriously she took her responsibilities to everyone in her extended family.
Minnie was our goodwill ambassador, our project supervisor, the head cat, a wise old soul, a unique character and our devoted friend whose life on this earth has unfortunately come to an end.
Minne died on January 15, 2009 at the Chambers Creek Animal Hospital as the result of an intestinal tumor.
She died peacefully and we brought her home to rest. She will be buried on the property that she loved.
She will be missed, but her memories will continue to bring us joy!
Thanks to all of those who knew Minnie and allow her to share her life with them!
