Maggie was a tortie that we adopted from a local shelter when she was about 2 years old. Another person looking at the adoptable cats looked at her and said "That cat was hit with the ugly stick". I thought she was beautiful. She turned out to be a feisty character with a big attitude, but a lover of warm laps and back rubs. About halfway through her life, she developed inflammatory bowel disease which required daily medication and some extra care. She soldiered through it and handed out the loves and purrs until the end. She will always have a special place in our hearts.
