A donation was made in memory of Woody on
May 29, 2015.
Our dear Woody made people smile wherever he went with his famous grin. People who knew him just couldn't resist talking to him or petting him in order to make him smile. He was generous with his affection to anyone who was receptive, even as we were discussing the prospect of euthanasia moments before we had to make the gut-wrenching decision to end his suffering from cancer. Our handsome boy never tired of being touched, and we were more than happy to oblige. Oh how we miss snuggling with our pal.
Woody enjoyed being included in everything we did. We took an online dog photography class, and Woody was a willing subject for every assignment. He seemed to like mugging for the camera, and endured many retakes in the quest for "the perfect shot."
We spent Woody's last summer swimming and playing with the hose in the back yard whenever the boy felt up to it. His life was cut too short, but we tried to make every day a special "doggy day."
Doctors Wood, Moore, and Mc Corkle and their team at Wandermere Animal Hospital provided compassionate care for Woody, and made a generous donation to make this memorial possible (Woody was named after Dr. Wood). We all hoped Woody could beat the odds, but cancer took him from us in the prime of his life.
