Lucky

Please find attach pictures of our beloved Lucky who was laid to rest on November 22, 2013. What a wonderful companion and addition the family she was. We rescued Lucky (given the name that not only was she Lucky to have us, but we were Lucky to have her) from the Spokane Humane Society on November 9, 2001. She was picked up with her brother and sister all 3 months old, running the streets of Colville, Washington. Immediately Lucky became a member of our family filling our hearts with unconditional love, joy and a lot of memories. She was one of the smartest dogs we have ever known. While working in the yard such as weeding she would love to play fetch and if I stopped because I was busy she would put the ball in the weed bucket so you had to throw it, or when mowing she would put the ball on the ground right in front of the mower so you again had to throw it. How many dogs can you tell to pick up their toys and put them away! Over the years she became quite the companion for my husband bringing the paper in daily and an office buddy to my husband who for several years was in sales and worked out of the house until he suffered a massive stroke in February of 2013. Lucky knew and learned that not only my husband's life had changed but all of ours did too. She became very aware of his disabilities and learned to adapt with him in a wheelchair then progressing to a cane. She even walked daily with him in the house when he did his therapy. What a blessing Lucky was to all of us and truly missed and forever in our hearts!
