Charlie
A donation was made in memory of Charlie by Leah Panganiban on Jul 22, 2025.
I adopted Charlie Pineapple in January 2019 from the Purrfect Pals Sanctuary in Arlington. WA. It had been two years since my beloved, Jack the Cat, passed from cancer. I was ready to bring another forever companion into my life. Charlie, formerly known as Pineapple Gepetto, had been at the sanctuary for 3 and a half years. He had been adopted with his litter mates as a kitten but returned two years later due to "allergies" of the adopted family's children. What I didn't know at the time was he had a bite history, and likely that was why he was surrendered again.
The day I adopted Charlie, he was 5 and a half. I renamed him Charlie Pineapple. A name he responded to immediately-no questions asked. Charlie bloomed with me becoming his full self and I fell in love with him. Full of love, charm, and sweetness with a dash of feistiness (like his Mom). He loved laying on the back patio in sunshine, hunting for critters in the garden (daytime only), freeze-dried chicken treats-always! Every evening we enjoyed cuddle time together. We survived (and thrived) during the pandemic. He was with me almost 24/7; honestly, his presence and companionship were reasons I weathered that time.
Soon after he was adopted, he was diagnosed with feline asthma. He also suffered from OA in his lumbar and, later in life, IBD. I took the very best care I could of Charlie.
Charlie's asthma worsened in the last year even with all the medications available to control his condition and support of his medical team (and friends). On July 21, 2025, Charlie was released over the rainbow bridge with the assistance of Lap of Love (Seattle). Charlie had just celebrated his 12th birthday.
I miss my beloved "Wonder Kitty"'s presence every day and in so many way. He was truly my best friend and companion. I am so blessed to have had Charlie in my life for six years. Oh, I wish it could have been much longer.
Thank you for reading and all you do!
