SAMYOT- Siamese Gentleman


He lies in the rock grasped dirt up the hill from the house
rarely free to whisker the cheat grass or puncture vined acres
two plantings of catmint roots seek water
their purple flowering cast small shadows
secondary to the blackboard scrawls drawn by the larger overhead tree
his breath now a purr slurred as twilight obscures
the need to creep with care paramount,
an uninhibited feline charade.
