Bob was frightened, alone, and wondering why he had been abandoned at a truck stop in Nevada. He was so small and fragile compared to the large semis, rv's, and campers that were coming and going. I inquired inside as to the ownership of the little lost Collie in the parking lot. The attendant told me that dogs were often abandoned there. The town was too small to have an animal shelter and the shelter 40 miles away wouldn't come to pick him up. That began one of the happiest journeys of my life. I put him into my car and brought him home to Montana. He was gentle, kind, loving, loyal, and a great friend. He was my protector and my best friend through difficult times. I will always love him and I still miss him very much. When I see him again, I know the pain will be gone and he will be running happily. I hope he knows how much I love him and miss him.
