I lost my cat Georgia recently to heart failure, during a procedure attempted to save her life. Unfortunately she did not survive the anesthesia. I have always had a cat and she was one of the best I've known. She and I moved several times together, this time most recently from California. She has been my companion through a kid moving away to college, a divorce, more than one heartbreak, and she has been a friend when no one else was around. Her soft grey fur was so comforting for me to touch and stroke, and she closed her eyes and purred. Towards the end of her life, she lost her vision to high blood pressure, but she knew her way around the house and she would come when called. Her nickname was "George." I loved her so much.
