Pepper

A donation was made in memory of Pepper on Dec 29, 2009.

We loved Pepper and will remember all his querks. He loved sorting the laundry for us, going through the paper garbage, and alerting us to even a leaf falling in the front yard. What we do to hear his familiar howl now or look in his dark beautiful brown eyes. He was always on the prowl for food, and we had to keep it up high as he was quite happy if he "got it" and won the hunt. He loved playing chase around the living room furniture and gave the best "kisses" in the whole wide world. He always greeted you with LOUD barks ("I missed you) and will be remembered by many for his warm hospitality (not). But once he got to know you, he just wanted to play. He loved watching Cougar games with Mike. Pepper got a baby sister "Bella" when he was seven and was never to crazy for until of late. In the last year they appeared inseparable. Bella is missing Pepper a lot. The three of us would take walks in Lincoln Park five days a week. Bella and I will now patrol together alone with good memories. All the garbage cans are still standing and toilet roll intact which also means Pepper is in a better place today. Peps, the family misses you and knows you are really happy!

Comments: I was lucky enough to be Pepper's dog walker and pet sitter since he was about one year old. His best friend at my house was Tiffany, a West Highland Terrier, the same age as Pepper. They would race around the house and yard barking for sheer joy. Tug of war was a favorite pasttime and at night they would sometimes share a bed. They were never too far away from each other. Today Tiffany is at my house and right now she is on top of the sofa, another favorite place for the two of them to sit. Tiffany seems to know that Pepper is gone and she is very subdued. We will all miss him so much.

Comments: I am Pepper's older sister, but I always referred to myself as his grandma! (I thought he would listen to me if he thought I was old). Pepper had the biggest personality and was never afraid to SPEAK his mind. However, Pepper was the most loyal dog I have ever met. He loved his family almost more than he loved food. I will miss Pepper forever and I know that he will look after Bella and maybe even Lilly, his new cousin, from heaven.
