Brönte

Bronte was my heart, my soul my everything. The perfect English Golden Retriever puppy born Nov. 28, 2010 - eight years to the day I survived a suicide bombing while on assignment in Mombasa, Kenya. Bronte became my service dog. She helped me through my hereditary genetic illness and stayed with me until six months after my life-saving kidney transplant. She left me six weeks shy of her 12th birthday. Bronte was loved by all. Her favourite thing to do was swim and swim and swim. She never met a drop of water she didn't love. The outpouring of love from friends, family and neighbours at her passing was overwhelming. Cards, flowers, presents left at the garden gate where she greeted everyone every single day. She was the bestest girl in the whole wide world and I will miss her forever. Bronte was diagnosed with a meningioma at 9. She underwent SRT, which the oncologist said would giver her 18-24 months. She lasted 31 months. She was always a fighter. Named after my favourite author, Charlotte Bronte, she will always have a piece of my heart.
