Wishpoosh
A donation was made in memory of Wishpoosh by Drs. Whereat and Heeren at Northwest Veterinary Hospital on Jul 09, 2020.
Wishpoosh was the most sweet baby angel who loved snuggles more than anything. When I first met her in the cat shelter, all she wanted was to crawl into someone’s lap, and she crawled into mine the minute I sat on the hard concrete floor. Wishpoosh didn’t start out as my cat though. I lived with her while she was my roommate’s cat, back when her name was Zoey, and we also lived with her best cat-friend Donahue (Huey). But slowly overtime, Wishpoosh slept more and more on my bed till one day it became clear I was who she picked to be her mother. When my roommate moved to the East Coast, “Zoey” officially became mine and her name was upgraded to Wishpoosh. She would constantly be found on a lap or over a shoulder or kneading a tummy. When requesting to be picked up and held, she would get up on her hind legs and politely request to be picked up by patting your thigh with her paw, because everything Wishpoosh did had to be sweet and polite. She was a proper lady cat after all. If not on a person she would enjoy sitting in her cat tree, cackling at crows, or burrowing under a blanket. When she was playful, she would roll around on a blanket with a catnip toy between her paws, bunny kicking the toy with her back paws. Her meow sounded more like a “M’gak” than a mew and she had the loudest, weeziest purr to let you know how much she loved you. Though often quite skittish, running from loud noises and the broom, she was actually well-traveled. She accompanied us on a drive across the entire country and flew back a year after, enjoying lots of cheese from the Alaska Airlines Beecher’s cheese plate. There are even pictures of her out on a walk in the snow-kissed fields of Nebraska. Even when we stopped at hotels and she was in a scary new place, all she wanted was snuggles in the hotel bed. She enjoyed adventures a little closer to home as well; exploring her backyard, basking in sun spots on the deck and chasing little white butterflies. She is survived by her many younger cat gentlemen callers: Siggy the Troll Cat, Schrödinger, Einstein, Kumquat, Quiet, and many others. She was my constant companion and ceaseless source of unconditional love. I love you and miss you sweet baby!
