I was so lucky to spend 18 of her 20 years with this extraordinary creature. She was a rescue from the humane society after I lost another special cat. Minnie Beebe was initially aloof. One of my two cats I already had (Stuka) was determined to befriend her because she wanted to be friends with every one. I could often find them cuddled together and referred to Minnie as Stuka's nose warmer, as Stuka often had her nose pressed into Minnie's flank or fluffy backside. After losing Isabelle (Stuka's cranky sister) and then Stuka a few years later, Minnie blossomed as an only child and our bond strengthened. A few years later, when I took extended time off from work, the bond grew even stronger. Minnie Beebe was one of those one-in-a-million cats. So very special. When I still had all three cats, I had a boyfriend move in. He told me early on he would be no cat daddy but Minnie won him over and they would develop their own special friendship. Even after he moved out, he would offer to come 1000 miles to stay with her while she was going through a medication trial and I was scheduled to travel.
Minnie Beebe was beautiful, inside and out. So smart, so curious, so well-behaved of her own volition. She was truly, deeply loved and is truly, deeply missed. I love you, my precious Beebe.
