Zoe was our first child; a dog adopted from the Atlanta Humane society a year after losing a puppy we purchased from a breeder who ended up with parvo. She showed my husband and I how to move past our grief and how to love and nurture a being outside of our selves and each other again. In turn she loved us unconditionally, seemed to always know when we needed her, and was a “big sister” as we expanded our family with two kiddos. I still think of her daily and miss the shadow that she was for me each day in so many big and small ways. Our family is left with a giant hole in the physical world, but we know that she is all around us still both through memories and in the small instances we can still feel her presence in our home. We can’t say enough thanks to all her Drs (Loyal Family, Ally Pet and Blue Pearl) who we felt thought of her as their family too. And thank you so much to this memorial page where we can commemorate her memory more broadly.
