We adopted Scooter from Seattle Animal Control when she was about eight months old. She was a purebred beagle who had been running loose and was a garbage pail puppy. She was our first child and was very sweet and funny. We took her through dog obedience school and taught her not to bay, to poop on the outskirts of the lawn and to curb her taste for fine leather….shoes, belts, English saddles, etc. When our son Blake was born, she was terrific and Blake has always felt a strong connection to his ‘older sister.’
Scooter lived the life of Reilly, with great food, warm beds and clothing, a huge yard to run in, lots of squirrels to chase, vacation trips, car rides and boating. In return, she gave us more love that we could ever imagine and she was in terrific physical condition up until about age 13—due to the outstanding vet care she receive from the doctors and staff at Elliott Bay Animal Hospital. They really cared about her and treated her as if she were their own. What more could anyone ask for to have someone so special come into your life? We’ve attached some photos of our beloved little girl and the impact she had on our family.
